QR Code Generator Guide & FAQs
What is a Static QR Code?
A Static QR Code contains your destination data (like a URL or text) directly within the pattern of the squares. Unlike "Dynamic" QR codes offered by many paid services, these do not require a redirect through a third-party server.
- Permanent: They never expire.
- Unlimited: There are no scan limits.
- Private: No one can track who scanned your code or when.
Best Practices for Scanning
To ensure your QR code is easily readable by all smartphones:
- Contrast: Always use a dark color for the dots and a light color for the background.
- Size: If printing on business cards, ensure the QR is at least 2cm x 2cm.
- Quiet Zone: Keep some empty space (margin) around the code.
How much data can it hold?
This generator supports up to 2,953 alphanumeric characters. However, for the best scanning experience, we recommend keeping URLs under 200 characters. The more data you add, the denser the dots become.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this QR generator safe for passwords or sensitive links?
Yes. Because the generation happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript, your input is never sent to our servers. It is 100% private and secure.
Can I change the link after I print the QR code?
No. Since this is a static QR code, the data is "baked into" the image. If you need to change the link, you will need to generate and print a new QR code.
Why should I use a logo in my QR code?
Adding a logo increases brand trust and tells users where the link will take them before they scan. Our tool uses Level H Error Correction, which allows up to 30% of the code to be covered by a logo while remaining functional.
